The Dynamic Discovery Process is an interactive process that helps advisors and clients identify--and plan for--important life transitions. Using the Life Transitions Profile, advisors can walk clients through a survey of 62 different life events that makes it possible for clients to quickly identify what is currently happening, or about to happen in their lives. Knowing what specific transitions are occurring in a client's life enables an advisor to provide a customized plan by addressing current and future plans in a more specific way. Life transitions are categorized into four types: (1) personal and family, (2) work and career, (3) financial and investment, and (4) community and philanthropy.
The Dynamic Discovery Process is a critical component of the Financial Life Planning Process and is most effective when paired with the Life Goals Profile.
